Individual Technical

The Technical Achievement Award is given to a scientist who has made significant research contributions in Signal Processing Theory and Applications. Nominations should be sent to Prof. Patrick Naylor by December 31st. The award ceremony takes place during the EUSIPCO conference.

2013 Technical Achievement Award

The EURASIP Technical Achievement Award for 2013 is awarded to Steve Young, for contributions to the development of Spoken Language Systems including Speech Recognition, Speech Synthesis and Dialogue Management.

2012 Technical Achievement Award

The EURASIP Technical Achievement Award for 2012 is awarded to Peter M. Djuric, for contributions to the theory and application of Monte Carlo-based methods to signal processing.

2011 Technical Achievement Award

The EURASIP Technical Achievement Award for 2011 was awarded to Yuri I. Abramovich, for fundamental contributions to adaptive array processing for radar.

2010 Technical Achievement Award

The EURASIP Technical Achievement Award for 2010 was awarded to Sergio Barbarossa, for contributions to synthetic aperture radar and wireless communications and networks.

2009 Technical Achievement Award

The EURASIP Technical Achievement Award for 2009 was awarded to Moeness G. Amin, for contributions to radar imaging and interference mitigation in communications and navigation systems.

2008 Technical Achievement Award

2003 Technical Achievement Award

An Technical Achievement Award for 2003 was awarded to Wolfgang MecklenbrĪ“uker for his pioneering contributions in digital signal processing and his seminal work on reinterpreting the two-dimensional Wigner distribution, from its use as a quantum-mechanical function, into an electronic time-frequency signal analysis technique.

Another Technical Achievement Award for 2003 was awarded to Bernd Girod for his fundamental contributions to networked media systems, video signal compression and coding, and 3-D image analysis and synthesis.
