EURASIP BoD Elections
EURASIP is managed by the Board of Directors (BoD). EURASIP BoD elections are held every two years. The EURASIP Advisory Committee confirms the BoD election results and appointments. All elected BoD members serve four year terms.

On December 31st, 2014, three current BoD members are ending their term (Paula Queluz, Jean-Luc Dugelay, and Aggelos Pikrakis). The biographies of the candidates that appear on the 2014 election ballot are available on the voting website.

An electronic procedure will be used to collect votes and the results will be announced during the EURASIP General Assembly, which will be held during the Opening Ceremony of EUSIPCO 2014, Lisbon, Portugal, September 1-5.

For the first time, EURASIP members can only vote electronically. Electronic voting starts on June 16 and ends on August 28. To cast their votes, EURASIP members are invited to visit the voting page on the Membership Server.

Questions related to the voting procedure may be sent to membership@eurasip.org.

  • Signal Processing
  • Speech Communication
  • Journal on Advances in Signal Processing
  • Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking
  • Journal on Image and Video Processing

A committee chaired by the Editor-in-Chief for each eligible journal carries out the assessment of the papers. The assessment criteria include:

  • Relevance of the topic
  • Quality of the technical content
  • Style of the presentation
  • Originality

For additional information on the scope and criteria for EURASIP awards, please visit the EURASIP website. The website also gives further details of the nomination and awards process.

EURASIP PhD Summer School in Radar Signal Processing
The first EURASIP PhD Summer School will be held on 8-12 September 2014 in Pisa (Italy) and will focus on Radar Signal Processing. The School aims to providing PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, and young scientists with the unique opportunity to meet and learn from leading experts about the most advanced signal processing techniques applied in radar systems for remote sensing, target classification and surveillance.

The School will be held at the “Hotel Casale La Sterpaia”, located in the beautiful San Rossore Park, Pisa, Italy (http://www.dormirenelparco.it/sterpaia-sanrossore-pisa). During the five-day program, eight senior researchers and industry representatives will give lectures on passive radars, SAR, cognitive radar systems, target recognition and tracking. Furthermore, one afternoon will be dedicated to the presentation of student’s research activities and another afternoon to the description of a project assignment.

More information can be found in the flyer of the summer school, and soon also on the summer school webpage.
