EURASIP Awards: Announcement 2015 Best PhD Thesis Awards
EURASIP, the European Signal Processing Association (http://www.eurasip.org), created and maintains a database of PhD manuscripts at http://theses.eurasip.org, which is one of the World's largest in the area of signal processing. The database also keeps track of monthly downloads.

Every year a committee of experts nominated by the EURASIP BoD selects up to three theses related to different areas of signal processing to be awarded. The selection process is based on the evaluation of the impact of the theses, their subsequent journal and conference publications and related citations received, and on the review reports of the independent reviewers as well as on the download statistics.

The 2015 winners are:

Christoph Angerer for the thesis titled “Design and Exploration of Radio Frequency Identification Systems by Rapid Prototyping”, Technische Universität Wien, 2010, supervised by Markus Rupp and Robert Weigel.

Javier Arribas for the thesis titled “GNSS Array-based Acquisition: Theory and Implementation”, Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya, 2012, supervised by Carles Fernández.

Many congratulations to these winners on behalf of the EURASIP Board of Directors.

EUSIPCO-2015 PhD in 3 minutes
If you are devoting or have devoted 3 or more years to your PhD, you could devote 3 minutes to explain it to a more general public, we challenge you!!

As a new activity within the EUSIPCO2015 conference, the Technical Program Committee is offering a 3 Minutes Thesis (3MT) contest, where PhD students have three minutes to present a compelling oration on their thesis and its significance. This activity is sponsored by EURASIP, which wants to promote transversal skills of PhD researchers such as oral and presentation skill. If you want to participate, visit the EUSIPCO-2015 website and click on the 3MT announcement.

Important Dates:
Video Submission Deadline: 5th June 2015
Acceptance notification: 22nd June 2015

EUSIPCO is the flagship conference of the European Association for Signal Processing (EURASIP). The 23rd edition will be held in Nice, on the French Riviera, from 31st August -4th September 2015. EUSIPCO 2015 will feature world-class speakers, oral and poster sessions, keynotes, exhibitions, demonstrations and tutorials and is expected to attract in the order of 600 leading researchers and industry figures from all over the world.
