2016 EURASIP Membership Renewal |
A welcome message to EUSIPCO-2015 and Seasonal School participants
EURASIP extends a warm welcome to all EUSIPCO-2015 participants and attendees of one of the 2015 EURASIP Seasonal Schools as 2016 members of the European Association for Signal Processing
(EURASIP). Your membership, which is valid through December 31, 2016, has been covered by your EUSIPCO-2015 or Seasonal School registration.
We sincerely hope you will appreciate our Association's activities and initiatives.
EURASIP members enjoy a number of member benefits: EURASIP members receive EURASIP journals and selected books by Elsevier at discounted member prices, and enjoy registration fee discounts at a number of conferences that are organized in co-operation with EURASIP.
In addition, EURASIP members receive a 10% discount on Open Access publication charges for their publications in EURASIP/SpringerOpen journals.

New Editor-in-Chief for Elsevier
EURASIP Journal Journal on Audio, Speech, and Music Processing as of 1st January 2016 |
Springer and EURASIP would like to take this opportunity to thank
Professor Douglas O'Shaughnessy, the outgoing Editor-in-Chief, for his
remarkable work for the journal, and to introduce Emanuel Habets, the new
Editor-in-Chief, to all readers of the EURASIP newsletter.

Professor O'Shaughnessy was the founding Editor-in-Chief of the journal.
He is Professor in Speech Processing at INRS, University of Quebec,
Montreal, Canada, and also adjunct professor at McGill University. He
received his PhD at MIT in 1976. His research interests include
automatic speech synthesis, analysis, coding, enhancement, and
recognition.

Professor Emanuel Habets is Professor and Chair of the Spatial Audio
Research Group at the Audio Labs, Fraunhofer IIS, Erlangen, Germany. He
received his PhD from the Technische Universiteit Eindhoven (TU/e), The
Netherlands, in 2007. Next, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the
Technion and at the Bar-Ilan University, Israel, and a Member of the
Research Staff in the Communication and Signal Processing Group at
Imperial College London, United Kingdom. In November 2010, he joined
the International Audio Laboratories Erlangen (a joint institution of
Fraunhofer IIS and the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany).
Prof. Habets is a Senior Member of the IEEE, a member of the IEEE Signal
Processing Society Technical Committee on Audio and Acoustic Signal
Processing (2011-2016) and a member of the IEEE Signal Processing Society
Standing Committee on Industry Digital Signal Processing Technology
(2013-2015).
