Speech Communication

Speech Communication is a publication of the European Association for Signal Processing (EURASIP) and the International Speech Communication Association (ISCA). It is an interdisciplinary journal whose primary objective is to fulfil the need for the rapid dissemination and thorough discussion of basic and applied research results.

The most recent Impact Factor for Speech Communication is 1.8 according to 2016 Journal Citation Reports released by Thomson Scientific (ISI) in 2017.

(April 2018) Message of the incoming Editor-in-Chief

On 1 April 2018, Frederic Bimbot becomes the new EIC of "Speech Communication", the EURASIP-sponsored journal published by Elsevier and co-sponsored by ISCA, the International Speech Communication Association. Frederic takes over from Bernd Moebius, who was in this position since 2013.

Eurasip would like to take the opportunity to thank Bernd for his great efforts in leading the journal and maintaining it as one of the top journals in its scientific area.

Biography

Frederic Bimbot is a senior researcher at IRISA in Rennes, France, where he heads the METISS research group on speech and audio processing since 2002.  After receiving his PhD in 1988, he joined CNRS as a permanent researcher, working with ENST-Paris and with IRISA-Rennes. He also repeatedly visited AT&T Bell Laboratories between 1990 and 1999. His research is focused on audio signal analysis, speech modeling, speaker characterization and audio source separation.
