Student Activities at EUSIPCO 2021 |
From the 29th European Signal Processing Conference Organizing Committee we wish to share with you the Student Activities to be held at the next EUSIPCO 2021: Student Paper Competition and 3 Minute Thesis contest.
Student Paper Competition
EUSIPCO 2021 holds a competition to select the Best Student Paper of the conference amongst the papers submitted by graduate or undergraduate students.
- The first author of each of these papers should be a full-time student at the time of manuscript submission to EUSIPCO 2021.
- Up to 12 leading papers will be identified. Depending on the conference format (fully online or hybrid), the finalists might have to present their work in a special poster session that will be announced in due time.
- The 3 winners of the Best Paper Award will be announced at the end of the conference or during the banquet.
- Please make sure that the first author of the paper is registered as student in the submission system.
3 Minute Thesis (3MT) contest
After the successful past editions, the Technical Program Committee of EUSIPCO 2021 is offering for the seventh consecutive year a 3 Minute Thesis (3MT) contest, where PhD students have three minutes to present a compelling oration on their thesis and its significance. This activity is sponsored by EURASIP. It is an exercise for students to consolidate their ideas so they can present them concisely to an audience specialized in different areas. Together with scientific and technical quality, EURASIP wants to promote transversal skills of PhD researchers such as oral and presentation skills, and it also wants to help PhDs to gain visibility of their work. To PhD students: If you are devoting or have devoted 3 or more years to your PhD, you could devote 3 minutes to explain it to a more general public, we challenge you!
- Submission instructions: All the details in the EUSIPCO 2021 website
- 3MT Awards:
Finalists are invited to give their 3MT presentation at EUSIPCO 2021.
Among the finalists, the top-three finalists will be selected by the EUSIPCO 2021 audience based on their 3-minute presentation.
Depending on the conference format, the finalists will be invited to attend the Conference dinner where the winner will be announced and awarded with a Grand prize of 1000€.
If the conference is fully virtual, the winners will be announced at the end of the session.
- Rules for Competition:
The candidates must not have defended their PhD thesis before the date of the contest and should strictly follow the rules in the EURASIP website.
- Previous EUSIPCO 3MT-Videos
If you need inspiration, have a look at the previous 3MT contest winners.
- IMPORTANT DATES
- 3MT video and one-page abstract submission due: May 31, 2021.
- Shortlist announced: June 18, 2021.
Good luck to all the students!
